Ice Skating

After the dyeing of the river, we headed to try to catch the parade. But as you can see we only saw people unloading from the floats. Oh well!
Then we headed to Millenium Park to go ice skating. Minh has been avoiding this all winter. He did not fall but he wasn't on the ice very long, just long enough to get a picture and say he did it. In the background, you will see a big silver bean shaped object. That the art in the park that was finished last year. It took forever to polish and shine up but you can see the reflection of the Chicago downtown area in it. So, it may be ugly and a big waste of money but what it reflects is neat.

St. Patty's Day

Turning the river green is a Chicago Tradition. We bundled up and got there early to get a good spot. There were snow flakes in the air as were were waiting. As you can, hopefully, see a local radio station has the boats and actually put the orange vegetable die in the river. They wear white suits that are orange when they are done. They only die the river between Michigan Ave. and Columbus, a very short section. There are 2 boats, one that dies and one that mixes the waters up. As you can see it is VERY green. The crowds were all over the railings and the bridge. Overall a very cool Chicago Tradition.
