Well, June has almost come and gone but we had lots of good times.We started off the month with the Annual KFM Cancer Classic. Our friend, Kevin Monahan, puts on this yearly putt-putt tournament to raise money for The American Cancer Society. This was my first time attending, Minh attended the event when it was in Atlanta years ago. We were paired up with a nice couple and we began playing. I should have know this was no ordinary putt- putt course because instead of wind mills and blue waterfalls there were sand traps! And yes, that is where we ended up playing from all day. We called it "the beach" or "the woods" (ie pine islands). I did hit a hole in one but that only occured once and I had many scores 9's! We are not Tiger! Minh & I were able to name one of the hole in honor of his grandfather.
The next weekend we attended Cirque Shangai at Navy Pier. We met the Morgan's (Jen, John, & soon to be baby girl) to have dinner, see the show then watch the weekly fireworks. My camera died so there aren't many pictures. The show was great, lots of colorful costumes and talented acrobatics. It made our bodies hurt watching it!
The next weekend we headed to ATL for Father's Day. A quick & cheap flight ($100) in honor of dear Dad. Minh spent the weekend fixing computers for everyone- old people and technology it's a dangerous combo! We were able to get away to go visit the Lloyd's. Lucas, Annel
ise, & Minh had a great time hanging out both at home & at the pool. They really are growing up fast.
And lastly, this past week I hosted the first Girl's Night in honor of two of our favorite teachers who are leaving, Katie (blonde next to me) and Keely (in pink). They are going to teach at another school next year. We will miss them but we now have Girl's Night monthly to make sure we stay in touch.
