Every summer Chicago hosts many festivals around town. One of the most popular is the Air & Water Show. They estimate over a million people watching it all over town. We have never attended this event at the lake but when we purchased our home the previous owners said you can see the air show from the roof top.
Unlike many cities, we don't usually hear or see planes here. It not like living close to Dobbins AFB in Marietta. So it was fun to see everyone around town stop on the streets and look up.
So this past weekend we watched from our roof top. It was a 79 degree day with a nice breeze. AHH!
The planes looked a lot clearer in real life but I thought it was AMAZING to watch this in the comfort of my lounge chair! A private showing!
Don't ask me what kind of planes these were. I think Minh said Blue Angels?? There were 2 different groups that flew that weekend.
The picture that looks like the planes are going to hit the building is a Senior Center. You can see a few people standing on top. As a joke, we have told Mom & Dad that is where they will be really retiring to!
One of the last few pictures you will see the smoke forming circles. inside the circles are skydivers. One of this was Bill Murray the comedian.
Maybe next year we can make it to the water part of the show.
